Local College Students Form Coalition To Promote Regional Interstate Development

A group of three area college students are envisioning a new Interstate highway for the Chattahoochee Valley. The new Interstate is growing to be more than an idea as local governments are getting on board and supporting the movement to bring Interstate 14 to the Chattahoochee Valley. The efforts of the group of young adults has resulted in the creation of a coalition to help promote the Interstate and keep our region updated on what may soon become a major economic incubator for the Chattahoochee Valley. Read the article here

Russel County Commission Becomes First in Alabama to Pass Resolution

Wednesday, June the 13th was a big day for I-14 and the state of Alabama. The Russel County Commission of Phenix City became the first to pass a resolution advocating for I-14 in the state of Alabama. We cannot thank all of the commissioners, especially Chairwoman Martin, for their immense support in our efforts.

Warner Robins Mayor Randy Toms said I-14 would benefit the midstate

After speaking to the Warner Robins City Council, Mayor Toms said they are looking into drafting a resolution supporting Interstate 14. When asked about the interstate, he said, ""It would be good for business, I think it will be good for personal travel, I think it will be a great idea, I think it's a long-term plan put its certainly one that will benefit all of Georgia."

Youth Infrastructure Coalition Launched

After receiving positive feedback from the Columbus City Council, Frank decided that he would launch Youth Infrastructure Coalition and asked for the help two friends: Justus Armstrong & Carsen Storey. The three are now board members of the Coalition and work together to accomplish their goals. 

Columbus, GA Signs Resolution To Support I-14

Frank Lumpkin, President of the Youth Infrastructure Coalition spoke at the Columbus, GA City Council meeting about the benefits that Interstate 14 would bring to the city. The local newspaper the Ledger Enquirer wrote an article about the city council meeting.
